Norwegian Christmas Cheer in Beijing

Since we have several Norwegians in the company, we decided to introduce a little bit of European Holiday Cheer. Erlend, was just coming out from Norway, so he brought us a special treat! Traditional gingerbread cookies, and glug! What is 'glug', you might ask? Well, it's a rather unwholesome fruity liquor which we diluted with red wine. The mix was heated in our office kettle (which will probably never boil water again)!

2006 Adventures in Skiing

Our first company outing was to Badaling. Traditionally known for being the closest link of the Great Wall to Beijing, we found it to also have a wholly refined and dignified ski-slope. Images of Whistler,Chamonix, Jackson Hole... Badaling leaves them all in the dust! Well, maybe not. It will take a few more decades before Beijing hosts the Winter Olympics.

Nanshan 2007

In January, Ethos employees took their annual ski trip. Seeing as how Badaling last year left much to be desired, this year we ventured out to new grounds - Nanshan. Some of last year's employees ventured out to the advanced slopes with the Norwegian pros, reflecting our core value of "evolving". Others, well, let's just say, not everyone evolved equally. In the end, no one was hurt (perhaps a little bit sore the next day). We look forward to our employees becoming 'ski coaches' in 2008.

Shengzhe Retreat 2007

Ethos Norway visited Beijing in April, and the whole company enjoyed a very interesting and intimate spring outing in ShiSanLin, a beautiful suburban area of Beijing overlooking the Ming Tombs. The team participated in Interesting games which helped the Ethos family members better get to know one another. They had to work together and help each other in order to fulfill their tasks. Also, at the retreat, our top employees for 2006 (as voted by their teammates) were awarded. There were many memorable episodes, of which here are just a few.

Water Park Trip

To celebrate our second anniversary, Ethos visited Caribbean Lagoon, a water park in the outskirts of Beijing. Despite rainy weather for the preceding few days, the skies opened up for us allowing the company to enjoy a day of fun and sun.
