I like freedom, not micromanagement.
At Ethos, our goal to give people the opportunity to take initiative, risk and grow. We believe in task ownership, accountability and responsibility to those who deserve it and we facilitate this by offering training and support.

I want to do more than code and test.
We want you to do more than code and test, too. Because our teams rely on strong communication with customers, we are able to undertake both early project stages, including requirements definition and design, as well as later project stages such as final deployment. Also, good communication allows us to work using Agile methodology standards; we work in shorter, tighter project cycles and make improvements as quickly as they are identified.

I want to work in an international setting.
Ethos truly is international. Currently we have employees from various countries spanning Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia thus matching the diversity of our clients. We are neither Western nor Eastern; we are global.

I want to work directly with customers.
We believe that in project implementation, it is very important that each and every team member understands the customer’s business drivers, requirements, and products. It is not uncommon to walk into our office and find some of our clients sitting in conference rooms working with their projects teams. We encourage them to visit Beijing. When possible, we also encourage our developers to visit the client.

I want to feel like Ethos is my company.
Ethos is a unique working environment. We believe in a flat organizational structure which emphasizes transparency within the organization. Information in our company is always a free-flow. Internal memos which go to the Board of Directors are also open to all employees.
We also provide an open culture where engineers are encouraged to challenge their peers, seniors, and even management.
To help reduce hierarchies, we have teams and managers sitting side-by-side in the same room. Can you guess which desk belongs to the CEO? Probably not, it looks just like everyone else’s.
