What is cloud computing?

These days cloud computing is used to describe pretty much anything that is available through a browser interface. Our definition of cloud computing is more defined – a cloud platform offers full resource elasticity, a pay-per-use business model and a rich computing functionality and flexibility.

We concentrate on three leading cloud platform offerings that fit this definiton: Amazon EC2, Google App Engine and Microsoft Windows Azure. Which platform is the better choice depends on a number of factors. We have long experience in building on all three platforms, and share this experience when advising customers on what is best for their scope.
